This was a drawing I created for my daughter, Kathi. She loves the ocean and was surprised when I gave her the original drawing, which hangs in her house.
I used Prisma Color and Faber Castell colored pencils on Artistica Extra White 100% Cotton Hot Press paper to create the "Ocean Waves" drawing. I love this paper as it is smooth and very white and allows my pencils to gently glide while drawing. This scene was a bit challenging as I had never drawn a moving ocean before. I did some research to find an ocean scene that I could tackle and came up with this composition. I did learn from this exercise and will probably attempt to draw more ocean scenes.
